The most challenge I’ve been facing is wondering if I need to continue my education or making that next move as a writer. I’m in my 20’s, I have no children and I’m not married. So I know that I have the freedom to do whatever I want to do.
But, the issue is weighing out my options. It’s been four years since I’ve graduated and in my heart I’m not where I need to be.
I’ve been looking at several grad schools. I thought that Journalism was my calling but it’s not.
So I been looking for creative writing and publishing programs. A good start right?
Well…. not too sure.
Then I began to look for jobs in my field. There are a.few out and I’ve applied . I will continue to do so.
That’s the “torture” I’ve been putting myself through. The thing is I don’t want to make the wrong decision. I don’t want to regret what I did.
So I love food a lot. This topic was intresting to me because when I thought about being on a stranded island Cast Away came to mind. Tom Hank with his shabby beard and his best friend who was a volley ball name “Wilson” threw me for a loop. But of course my imagination got the best of me. I thought about how I was on a cruise ship and it began to sink and I was the only one to find a table and float my way to the beautiful island! Then, I thought about the foods that I love. These foods you have to cook and use utensiles and keep cool. So I weighed my options on this one.
Anjou Pears. I love these pears! They are so succlent when picked correctly. They are sweet and delish. The color itself is bright and inviting. You can’t help but to take a bite. The rest is history when you take a bite it’s sweet and refreshing.
Madarin Orange. Like Lays I just can’t have one! These little things are Delish! This fruit is one of my favorites. They are not too big and they peel easily. I don’t have to fight them like I do an orange.
Lays. I was going there! Can a girl imagine that she grabbed a few bags of Lays on the way down? “You can’t just eat one”! This would be the perfect snack while I lounge on the sand under the tree catching the breeze.
Fish.I fgured this is a source that I know that will already be there for me in the water.
Peanut Butter. This is a good source to keep you alive. It has all the right things in there. I am a big fan of Peanut Butter I’m always eating out the jar with a spoon. If I want to get fancy with it I add honey.
So here are my top 5 food, Let’s hope that these all last and I’m rescued soon!
Hmmm the picture above explains it all!
I am always up for a challenge especially when it involves my talent. I think the reason why I joined this is because I wanted to prove something to myself at first. I wanted to prove that I was a great writer like the next. But, I figured that while I do that, just have fun with it. I think that’s the whole point of doing a challenge to have fun. If you don’t have fun with what you do then it is not for you.
Another reason I joined is because I like to read other people work. I am big on reading and learning. I like to see what other people think or how they feel about a certain topic. It’s a learning experience to me too, I try to keep an open mind about things. And when I do that I learn from that person’s experience.
So far I am having a good time with this and continue to do so. I would recommend this to anyone who’s wiling to do this.
The past few years I haven’t read any books. I was trying to work on mines! Any who, just these past few months I’ve written out a list of books that I wanted to read. Sarah Jakes: Lost and Found Pearl Clege: Things I should have told me daughter and Ariana Huffington: Thrive. These books seem wonderful. As a matter of fact I will be purchasing them soon.
On Saturday night though; I decided to visit Lake Wood church because Bishop T.D. Jakes was a guest speaker. I love T.D. Jakes, everytime I hear him speak there’s always a word for me. I was not disappointed Saturday night. As a matter of fact God spoke through him once again and I just had to get his book.
Every word that he said was for me. He talked about how you know what you were born to do and it’s in your gut. You know that you’re not where you are supposed to be. If you just take that leap, take a chance and tap into what God had called you to do.
I’m not saying that the job that I’m at is not a blessing because it is. But I know that my heart is with wiritng. That I was called to do. Sometimes, I just want to throw in the towel and take that big leap and say “you know what, I’m going to do this full time”! My issue is taking that first step.
I think about how I need to maintain my finaces I will continue to work and save enough money. Then that’s when I willl take that big leap. I use to be afriad of doing that, but as the days go by, I know that’s where my heart is.
So, if you want to do the same thing I am doing then get Bishop T.D. Jakes book! It’s time to do what he created us to do!
What better way to toot your own horn? It feels good when you hear people say great things about you! Your chest sticks out and your smile is bright. The thing is, when you don’t believe it yourself then it doesn’t feel as good. I remember the article I wrote about this topic;but what I failed to do was elaborate!
What I like about me is I can blend with different groups of people I am a easy going person. I am sort of like a chamomile. I adapt quickly in my surroundings.
If I am some where and I don’t know a soul I try to find a friendly face. It may take me a few minutes but I end up making a friend at the end of the night. In certain situations I use to just keep to myself and never open my mouth. As I got older and I start going to different events and mixers I decided that I needed to open up. I needed to be the bubbly and friendly person I am.
That’s what I really like about myself, now if I could do that when I see a nice looking man! BUT that’s another story! HAHA! PEACE!
I think that LinkedIn and Twitter are my favorite social media platforms because it gives me more options for marketing my work.
I like Facebook don’t get me wrong but, LinkedIn gives me options to really show people who I am. People noticed that I went to school and was active. I get to send my resume to the potential companies I would love to work for. I get to connect with professional people and show them who I am.
I like Twitter because it’s more interesting. It’s’s more fun and I don’t have to look at pictures all the time. I feel as if I can speak my mind more.
Twitter has grown on me because I didn’t like it at first.
I don’t have too many friends on there but I’m getting there. I don’t know too many people that actually use Twitter. If they do then I’m not their friend.
I don’t have to be bothered with my family like on Facebook. I do have a sense of comfort on both websites.
So kudos to both sites
I should probably elaborate on the title more because I just wrote what ever popped in my head. That’s why I love writing it’s all about creativity!
I love pop music from the era’s of the 80’s to early 2000’s. Just to put it out there pop culture has always been trashy but the way the artist carried themselves back then is totally different from the way some of these “new artist” carry themselves now.
We went from the classic hit of “Don’t you forget about me” to people brushing their teeth with a bottle of jack and kissing girl’s and liking it. I’m confused! When did pop culture get to the point where it’s okay to do these things and have our young children repeat all these words and don’t have a clue about what the message is about?
I was going to write about a certain artist but I felt that if I did that, there would be a problem. The last thing I wanted to do was cause an uproar. So, I decided to go with MTV.
I use to absolutely love that station. I kept my television on MTV. When I was growing up during the summer I use to love waking up in the morning watching the top 30 songs to Making the video. Please do not get me started on celebrity death match! I use to countdown the hours until it was time to watch that show!
Now, I barely watch that channel because there is nothing entertaining on. I mean I do not want to see a show that advertises being pregnant at the age of sixteen! Since, when was it okay to be pregnant as a teenager? I am not judging anyone but to me they are letting our young ladies know that it is okay.
Everywhere you look there is a reality show and it’s people on they’re making a fool themselves. Yes, I am guilty of watching the earlier seasons of The Real World. It was hilarious; now it’s time for MTV to hang the hat up, blow the whistle that show is wack!
I don’t think videos are played anymore.I don’t understand because that’s what they station was all about… music! The only thing we get close to music on that station is the award show. I decided that award show wasn’t worth to watch neither.
So to conclude this rant I just went on, I miss the old days where music was fun. When I enjoyed watching television and looking forward to enjoying my summer and weekend. MTV you get the award for the CLASSY to TRASHY award. May you change your ways back to where it use to be about MUSIC!
